Join the Know Diabetes movement and help spread diabetes awareness throughout South Africa.
I need your help.
Diabetes in South Africa is more of a problem than TB, HIV and malaria combined. But one in two people with diabetes in South Africa don’t even know they have it. These are the latest stats from the International Diabetes Federation and they are scary. The way I see it, we have two options: we can wait around for something to be done about it, or we can do something.
Guess which one I think we should do?
I’m inviting you to be part of the Know Diabetes movement. We have 3 months till World Diabetes Day on the 14th November 2018. That’s the one day that South Africa talks about diabetes, and if we work together, we can make sure it’s the one day that everyone in South Africa finds out about the symptoms of diabetes. But I need your help.
We can give you tools – posters to download and print and take to your workplace and library and clinic and pharmacy, WhatsApp images to forward, social media icons to share. But we need a bigger community if we’re going to make a real impact.
We have 3 months: let’s get to 20,000 members. With 20,000 members we can reach a LOT of people.
Joining the Know Diabetes movement is free and easy – all you have to do is like the Diabetic South Africans Facebook page and sign up with your email above. And then tell all your friends and family who are even vaguely interested in diabetes to do the same. We won’t ever sell you anything, we won’t ever spam you. All we want to do is send a monthly newsletter to keep you up to date with the Know Diabetes movement, and empower you to make a difference to diabetics in South Africa.
Will you join me? I need your help.
